Lately my roots have been calling me so I decided to take a crack at a character for the first time in a while. My goal was to do something with a quick turnaround time (start to finish in one week) and more importantly, I wanted it to be fun. So here is what I have so far. I want to continue itterating and designing variations of him but I figured he's ready to be shown off in the meantime. I hope you like him!

I've been fiddling around with different types of armor. Building up a mental library of various design elements from all sorts of reference, both fictional and historic. I'll probably play a bit more with the high poly models before I commit to anything. In any case, I felt the knight needed more covering his under bits so I made a quick base taxture variant.

Along with various human characters I wanted to make a couple different enemies for Nibs to fight. Here are the Goblin and Dark Elf base texture variants. Looking forward to designing special armor for each of them. I really enjoy doing texture variant work.

Gladiator Armor
Usually before I start creating things on my own, I like to do some studies to familiarize myself with whatever subject I'm working on. Here are a couple of different Gladiators I made using historical reference. They ended up working well I think. Also gave me a bit of inspiration for later on.
